How do I apply for Next Term Life?
We recommend you use the quoting and needs assessment tool to determine how much coverage is right for you based on your needs. Then you can get an online quote for coverage with a few simple questions. (If you’re not sure about the coverage or premium amount in the initial quote, you can adjust them to better meet your life insurance needs and your budget.)
Like the quote? Apply online in about 15 - 20 minutes. You’ll answer questions about your lifestyle and health history. Most applicants don’t need an in-person medical exam and can complete the application, submit, sign, pay and receive instant life insurance protection. If you do not qualify for an instant offer, you will be able to go through additional underwriting (which may require an exam) to collect additional information to assess a health rating. Your blood pressure, pulse, height, and weight will be recorded and a urine, blood, or saliva sample may also be required. If approved, you can then finish your application and sign and pay online.
What do I need to apply?
To apply for Next Term Life insurance, you’ll need:
- Your driver’s license
- Your doctors’ name(s) and address(s), if any
- Current life insurance amount, if any (not including any employer-provided policies)
You may also need information about the status of your health and a list of current prescriptions.
How do I know my personal information is kept secure when I apply?
How long does it take to apply?
The online application only takes about 15 - 20 minutes to complete and many people receive an instant decision and can finalize their policy in minutes.
What if I don’t receive an instant decision?
While most people do receive an instant decision, there are cases where additional information may be needed or a medical exam may be required before a decision is made. You will be contacted about what to do next to receive a decision.
If needed, what happens during the medical exam?
While most people do not need an in-person medical exam, in some cases it may be required to be considered for coverage. The exam includes a health assessment to collect information about your medical history. Your blood pressure, pulse, height, and weight will be recorded and a urine, blood, or saliva sample may also be required.
How much life insurance should I buy?
Currently, we offer Next Term Life coverage from $250,000 - $10 million (for those who qualify). We recommend using the quoting and needs assessment tool to determine how much coverage is right for you based on your needs. The tool helps take into consideration your income, years to retirement, number of children, and the remaining amount left on mortgage when calculating a coverage amount. Or, if you work with a Financial Professional, you can contact them directly. With Next Term Life, you’ll have peace of mind of knowing you can change your coverage later if you need it.
Can I cancel my application while it's in-progress?
No problem! If you change your mind or aren’t sure, we’d love to have a chat with you to see how we can meet your needs now or in the future.
Can I cancel my policy after it’s been issued?
You can cancel your policy at any point in the first 30 days for a full refund.
